04 - Place the prepared croissants in a single layer inside the air fryer basket.
05 - Cook for 4 to 5 minutes until the croissants develop a golden crust and the Nutella melts.
06 - Remove carefully from the fryer and optionally sprinkle with chopped hazelnuts or powdered sugar. Serve warm.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • It takes less time than waiting for your oven to preheat, and tastes like you ordered it from a cafe.
  • The air fryer crisps the outside while the Nutella gets warm and melty inside, which is exactly what you want.
  • You can make it with whatever you already have in the pantry, no special trips required.
02 -
  • Don't skip preheating the air fryer, I tried it once to save time and the croissants came out unevenly cooked with soggy spots.
  • If the Nutella starts leaking out during cooking, it's not a disaster, just let it crisp up and scrape it off the basket after, it tastes like chocolate toffee.
  • Day-old croissants actually work better than fresh ones because they're a little drier and crisp up faster without getting too dark.
03 -
  • Use a little less Nutella if you're worried about it leaking out, you can always add more after they're done cooking.
  • If you don't have an air fryer, bake them at 350°F for eight to ten minutes, they'll still turn out golden and delicious.
  • Try freezing the croissants for ten minutes before slicing if they're too soft and squishy, it makes them easier to cut cleanly.
